Bachand Named as Interim Strength & Conditioning Coach

FAYETTE, Mo. – Vice President for Athletics and Student Life, Natasha Wilson, has announced that Tucker Bachand has been named the Interim Strength & Conditioning Coach for the upcoming academic year.

"Coach Bachand has been with us for nearly two years and our coaches feel very comfortable with his training and experience," stated Wilson. "I'm confident in his abilities to lead our strength and conditioning program and I'm excited that he'll be staying with us."

Bachand has served as a graduate assistant on the strength & conditioning staff since December 2018. During that time, he assisted with the strength and conditioning efforts of each CMU program by leading select teams through their workouts while working to complete his graduate degree.

"I'm very thankful to the administration at Central Methodist for giving me the opportunity to lead the strength and conditioning program," stated Bachand. "We have so many talented student-athletes and I'm ready to continue helping them reach their full potential."

Bachand is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has also earned certifications for CPR/AED and First Aid.

Prior to joining the Eagles, Bachand completed several successful sports performance and strength and conditioning internships that focused on post-workout nutrition, athlete rehabilitation, and the implementation of sport-specific training programs. His internship stints included stops at a number of high-level NCAA programs such as Yale, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, and UConn.

Bachand, a Connecticut native, earned his bachelor's degree in Health Promotion Studies from Western Connecticut University in May 2017. He is on pace to complete his Master of Education degree at Central Methodist in the fall.
