Overland Park, Kan. - A total of 24 Central Methodist student-athletes earned recognition on the Daktronics NAIA Winter Scholar-Athlete list, as announced by the national office Tuesday.
Women's basketball, men's basketball, and men's wrestling each led the way with six honorees apiece.
Men's Basketball: Isaiah Tessmer, Jordan Fuemmeler, Kevin James, Nicholas Welch, Noah Fassinut, and Thomas Sowoolu
Women's Basketball: Ehress Cunningham, Katelynn Smith, Kenna Lemmon, Mary Copeland, Trishelle Porter, and Wariya Alhassan
Men's Bowling: Lukas Heldenbrand
Women's Bowling: Lauren Williams and Maya Elliot
Men's Wrestling: Cameron Cornman, Drake Jenkins, Garine Gibson, Gavin Shoush, Jacob Ruff, and Mitchell Huber
Women's Wrestling: Annsleigh Alexander, Emily Neumann, and Mina Himmel
To qualify as a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year.
