GAME 2 BOX SCORE
The Central Methodist University baseball team dropped both games of the Eagles' doubleheader against University of the Cumberlands Saturday afternoon. The Eagles lost the first game 15-2 in five innings, before falling 13-4 in game two of the doubleheader.

CMU grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game one when sophomore Steve Bazner (Waterford, Mich.) singled to left field to drive in sophomore Mike Allen (Mattawan, Mich.). Cumberlands took the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning, then added two more runs in the second to make it 4-1. The Eagles cut the lead to 4-2 in the top of the third when junior Raymond Fuentes Jr. (Isabela, Puerto Rico) doubled, then came around to score on a one-out error after a single by senior Adam Arnette (Pacific, Mo.). Cumberlands took control with a four-run inning in the bottom of the third, before adding seven runs in the bottom of the fourth to earn the 15-2 win in five innings. Sophomore Carter DeMay (St. Peters, Mo.) took the loss for CMU, pitching three innings and giving up eight earned runs on nine hits. Sophomore Dalton Henry (Columbia, Mo.) pitched the fourth inning for the Eagles, allowing three earned runs on five hits.

In game two, Cumberlands grabbed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. CMU answered in the top of the third, scoring two runs on three hits in the inning. Junior Brennen Wood (West Plains, Mo.) doubled to open the inning, then came around to score on a single down the left-field line by junior Dustin Ray (Boonville, Mo.). Allen added an RBI with a sacrifice fly later in the inning to give CMU a 2-1 lead. Cumberlands regained the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third. The Eagles tied the score at 3-3 in the top of the fourth when Arnette doubled to open the inning, and came around to score on a single by Bazner. Cumberlands scored two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 5-3 lead. CMU cut the lead to 5-4 in the top of the fifth when Allen doubled and came around to score on a triple by Fuentes. Cumberlands broke the game open with six runs on five hits in the bottom of the fifth, then added two more runs on two hits in the bottom of the sixth to get the 13-4 win. Sophomore Zach Hoffman (St. Clair, Mo.) took the loss for the Eagles, allowing 10 earned runs on 11 hits in 4 2/3 innings of work. Freshman Alex Hunter (Kansas City, Mo.) allowed two earned runs on three hits in 1 1/3 innings of relief.

The Eagles dropped to 0-3 on the season with the losses, while Cumberlands improved to 5-2. CMU will finish its five-game road-trip tomorrow with a doubleheader at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Ky., beginning at 1 p.m.
