LEWISTON, Idaho � The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Wednesday afternoon that Central Methodist's Shane Lowe, Mason Mershon, Jesse Marks, Brian King and Alex Hunter are among 266 baseball student-athletes that have been named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Lowe is a senior outfielder from New Bloomfield, Mo. Mershon and King are junior infielders from Kansas City and Springfield, Mo., respectively. Marks is a junior infielder from Lebanon, Mo. Hunter is a redshirt junior pitcher from Kansas City.
Hastings (Neb.) leads all institutions with nine individuals on the list.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
