FAYETTE, Mo. - A Jesse Zellner walkoff single in the seventh inning completed Central Methodist's four-game sweep of Graceland (Iowa), as the Eagles took the final two games of the Heart of America Athletic Conference series Sunday at Estes Field by scores of 1-0 and 4-3.

Mike Wagner was the story of game one Sunday for Central Methodist (15-15, 8-6), which swept Graceland (15-20, 7-9) in four games for a second-straight season. The senior hurler (2-3) went the distance on the mound, tossing a four-hit shutout with four strikeouts and one walk. At the plate, the Williamsville, N.Y., native hit a sacrifice fly in the third inning, scoring Brandon Lamphier-Shaffer.

T.J. Singh and Eli Bowers each had one hit in the win.

Bryn Redhead, Alex Froloff, Steven Rodriguez and Shawn Hovlid each went 1-for-3 at the plate in the loss.

Jose Rosario (0-5) took the loss in a complete-game performance, surrendering one earned run on two hits with four strikeouts.

The Yellowjackets committed two errors in game one Sunday after totaling nine in two games Saturday.

Taran Tani scored on a throwing error in the top of the third inning of game two, giving Graceland a 1-0 edge, but the was erased by Singh with a two-run triple in the bottom of the frame. A Hayden McMillon RBI single made the score 3-1 after three innings.

A Hovlid RBI single in the sixth and Rodriguez RBI single in the top of the seventh tied the contest before Zellner's heroics in the home half of the inning. With two outs, the Eagles' Neil Hansen drew a walk and stole second base. After pitcher Samuel Lopez fell behind 2-1 in the count to Singh, Graceland elected to intentionally walk the senior left fielder, setting the stage for Zellner.

After two straight curve balls led to a 2-0 count, Zellner took a third hanging curve deep to left that bounced off the top of the wall. Hansen scored from second base on the play for the Eagles' fifth-straight triumph overall.

McMillon had two hits in game two.

Tani, Rodriguez and Hovlid each had two hits.

Reese Johnson (3-0) earned the win with one and two-third innings of relief pitching, allowing one earned run on two hits with a walk. Ian Walsh started the contest but took a no-decision, allowing two runs, one earned, on seven hits with two strikeouts and two walks in five and one-third innings.

Pitcher Samuel Lopez (0-2) dropped game two, allowing one earned run on one hit with three strikeouts and two walks in three and one-third innings out of the bullpen.
