KANSAS CITY - Central Methodist landed five players on the 2014 All-Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Baseball Teams which were released Monday. Outfielder T.J. Singh was named to the first team. Infielders Jesse Zellner and Mike Wagner were voted to the second team. Infielder Hayden McMillon and outfielder Kyle Poynter were honorable mention picks.
Singh, Zellner, Wagner and Poynter earn an All-HAAC honor for a second-straight season. McMillon was also named to the Rawlings Gold Glove team.
In the NAIA this season, Singh ranked 32nd in home runs (9), 39th in slugging percentage (0.622), 40th in total bases per game (2.156) and 44th in runs batted in per game (0.956). In 45 games, the senior batted .340 with 43 RBIs, 53 hits, 36 runs scored, 13 doubles, two triples and 18 walks. �The Toronto, Ontario, Canada, native posted an on base percentage of .425 and slugging percentage of .622.
Zellner, last season's HAAC Player of the Year, batted .320 in 46 games this season. The senior from Tonawanda, N.Y., posted four home runs, 34 RBIs, 49 hits, 26 runs scored, 11 doubles, 13 walks, an on base percentage of .381 and slugging percentage of .471.
Wagner batted .328 in 47 games with a team-high 58 hits in his final season for the Green and Black. The Williamsville, N.Y., product totaled 19 RBIs, 28 runs scored, six doubles, a triple, 10 walks, an on base percentage of .388 and slugging percentage of .373.
McMillon batted .259 in 47 games in his first season in Fayette. The Piggott, Ark., product recorded five home runs, 26 RBIs, 41 hits, 27 runs scored, six doubles, nine walks, an on base percentage of .315 and slugging percentage of .392. Defensively, the junior ranked as one of the top third basemen in the conference, committing only seven errors in 109 chances, good for a .936 fielding percentage.
Poynter batted .312 in 47 games as a senior. The Houston, Mo., native had five homers, 31 RBIs, 44 hits, 24 runs scored, five doubles, a triple, 16 walks, an on base percentage of .398 and slugging percentage of .468.
