With the victory, Central Methodist improves to 35-15 overall, while Harris-Stowe State University falls to 18-29 overall.

The Hornets jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, on an RBI single in the top of the first inning. CMU would respond with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first inning, to quickly gain the lead at 2-1.
�
Following a scoreless top of the second, the Central Methodist bats would erupt in the bottom half of the inning for eight runs on nine hits to take a 10-2 lead. The Eagles would never look back.

Central would score a run in both the fourth and fifth innings, and then they closed the game out with two more runs in the bottom of the eighth inning; to win 14-4 in a run-rule final eight innings victory.

Offensively for the Eagles, every starter recorded at least one hit. Joba Ferrell (Chicago, Ill.) finished a perfect 5-for-5 in the leadoff spot with three doubles, one homerun, three runs scored, three RBI's, and two stolen bases. Ferrell has now finished 5-for-5 at the plate in two of his last five games played.

The Eagles close out the 2016 regular season this Friday and Saturday, with a conference doubleheader against Culver-Stockton College.� First pitch is scheduled for 1pm each day.
