In game one, the Eagles jumped on the board with a run in the bottom of the first inning, when Joba Ferrell (Chicago, Ill.) hit a leadoff homerun on the second pitch he saw to give CMU the early 1-0 lead.

The Eagles would never look back, as starting pitcher Jeff King (Paris, Tex.) dominated on the mound. King earned the win (9-3), going all seven innings, while allowing just two hits and striking out five.

The Eagles offense would add one run each in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings; capped off by a Dalton Entwistle (Winfield, Mo.) pinch-hit homerun. Central would win game one by a final of 4-0.

In between games, the Eagles honored their 17 seniors with an on field ceremony.

Game two had a different feel to it, than the first three games. The intensity picked up immensely, as both teams were in search of a victory in the final regular season game before the conference's postseason tournament. The Wildcats struck first in game two with a run in the second inning to take the early 1-0 lead.

Culver-Stockton would add another run in the fifth inning, before the Central offense came alive. The Eagles scored a run in the sixth inning, two in the seventh inning, and another run in the eighth inning; all while the Wildcats added two runs during those same innings to tie the score at 4-4.

In the bottom of the tenth inning, with two outs and a 0-1 count, catcher Brad Cuyos (Pearland, Tex.) hit a homerun over the left centerfield wall to give the Eagles a walkoff 5-4 win in his final game ever at Estes Field. Cuyos ended the game 3-for-5 at the plate with the one RBI and the one run scored.

Following a solid start from senior Scott Huesemann (St. Peters, Mo.), reliever Chris Danielson (Saugus, Calif.) would earn the win (1-0) with his three innings of relief. Danielson allowed just one run on one hit, with one strikeout, and one walk.

The Eagles will next be in action on Thursday May 5th in The Heart's Baseball Postseason Tournament, which will take place in Joplin, Missouri at Joe Becker Stadium. The opponent and game time are to be determined.
