Fayette, Mo. Following their clean sweep in the 2016 Heart of America Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament this past weekend, the Eagles continue to soar with numerous postseason accolades. Central Methodist had four players named to the All-Tournament team and 11 players earn recognition in the All-Conference honors.

Following the completion of the conference tournament this weekend, catcher Brad Cuyos (Pearland, Tex.), first baseman Dalton Entwistle (Winfield, Mo.), center fielder Joba Ferrell (Chicago, Ill.), and pitcher Chris Danielson (Saugus, Calif.) were all named to the All-Tournament Team. Ferrell was named as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament, going 9-for-16 at the plate with eight runs scored, four RBI's, six walks, and four stolen bases.

"What an outstanding week for these young men," said CMU head baseball coach Nate Breland. "I had 23 players on my All-Tournament team. But I am proud of these players and the honor is well deserved."

On Monday, The Heart also announced their All-Conference Teams for the 2016 season. Catcher Brad Cuyos and center fielder Joba Ferrell earned spots on the 1st Team from Central Methodist University. �Third baseman Quinn Conley (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), pitcher Josh Thomas (Parker, Colo.), and designated hitter Aldo Adamus (Curacao) earned spots on the 2nd Team.�
First baseman Logan Bradley (Farmington, Mo.), shortstop Brennan Hurley (Elsberry, Mo.), right fielder Chance Sugg (Paragould, Ark.), and pitchers Jeff King (Paris Tex.) and Tyler Hull (New Franklin, Mo.) earned spots on the Honorable Mention list.

"These guys all had outstanding years," added Breland. "They made every player around them better."

The Heart also announced their Rawlings Gold Glove Team on Monday, and Quinn Conley was honored as the best defensive third baseman in the conference.

With their victory Sunday over MidAmerica Nazarene University, Central Methodist has become an automatic qualifier in the Opening Round of the NAIA Baseball National Championship, May 17-20 at one of nine locations. The pairings for each of those five-team, double-elimination tournament will be announced on Friday, May 13 at 3 p.m. CDT. The NAIA will produce a live video announcement that can be viewed on the NAIA Network (www.naianetwork.com).
