Fayette, Mo. Central Methodist University head baseball coach Nate Breland announced the signing of pitcher/designated hitter Joe Lewis (Coon Rapids, Minn.) on Wednesday afternoon. Lewis signs with CMU, after spending his freshman season at Anoka-Ramsey Community College.

"He is a team first guy," said CMU head baseball coach Nate Breland. "Joe is a big physical player that will help us on the mound and at the plate. I expect him to come in and make an immediate impact."

Joe Lewis will be a redshirt sophomore for the Eagles in 2016-17. Lewis played as both a pitcher and the designated hitter for Anoka-Ramsey. Lewis; a left-handed batter, finished the year with a .372 batting average, with three homeruns, 21 RBI's, 29 runs scored, and two stolen bases.

On the mound, Joe Lewis appeared in 10 games and finished with a 5-3 record. Lewis threw 62.1 innings, while allowing 32 runs; 28 earned on 53 hits with 70 strikeouts and 24 walks. He finished the 2016 season with a 4.04 ERA.
