"What an outstanding career and year Brennan (Hurley) has had as an Eagle," said CMU head baseball coach Nate Breland. "I am very proud of his accomplishments and the support of his family."

On the field in 2016, Brennan Hurley finished with a .348 batting average, while driving in 36 RBI's with one homerun. Hurley scored 29 runs, hit 13 doubles, and stole three bases; while also drawing 26 walks. In the classroom, Brennan Hurley finished with a 3.85 GPA and a degree in Accounting.

The 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America� College Division Baseball Team first team includes: pitcher Alex Webb from the University of British Columbia, pitcher Raymond Moody from Auburn University at Montgomery, catcher Nick Payne from the University of South Carolina Beaufort, Brennan Hurley of Central Methodist University, Michael Johnson from York (Neb.) College and Tom Osenbach of Penn State Brandywine along the infield; Jared Baker of Oklahoma City University, Jordan Eckley from MidAmerica Nazarene University, Garrett Heath from Friends University and Jordan Rousselle from Kansas Wesleyan University in the outfield; and College of Idaho designated hitter Cole Mansanarez.

The second-team honorees are pitchers Jacob Guilianelli from William Woods University and Tanner Reklaitis of Trinity Christian College; Trinity Christian's Zack Jones at catcher, infielders Zach Bohl of Cornerstone University, Jordan Braswell from Lyon College, Mark McGinnity of Peru State College and Joshua Pieper of Trinity Christian, outfielders Cole Gray of Midland University, Bryan Klendworth from Olivet Nazarene University and Jeremy Maas of Concordia (Mich.) University, plus Peru State designated hitter Jordan Silva.

The 11-member first team from the Academic All-America� College Division baseball squad has an average G.P.A. of 3.71, while the second team has an average G.P.A. of 3.73. The entire team boasts of an average G.P.A. of 3.72.
