FAYETTE, Mo. – The No. 15 Central Methodist University baseball team took down Harris-Stowe State University in a 13-6 decision at Estes Field on Wednesday afternoon, extending its winning streak to five games.

Bats rattled for the Eagles from the start as the team notched four home runs in the game. It is the third time this season that the Eagles have launched at least four long balls. Riley Richarz (SR/Milwaukee, Wis.), Mason Schwellenbach (JR/Saginaw, Mich.), and Z Westley (JR/Midland, Mich.) went deep in the first inning to give CMU a five-run cushion, while Adrian Martinez (JR/Toa Alta, Puerto Rico) knocked one over the center field fence in the bottom of the sixth.

Heads-up base running put Central Methodist in prime position to score, leading to eight stolen bases on eight attempts in the contest. Today's nimble running marks the most stolen bases in a game for Central since also recording eight against Benedictine in March 2018.

Sergio Macias (JR/Laredo, Tex.) tossed for five innings on the mound to record the win, striking out six and giving up nine hits. Cody Malan (JR/Springfield, Mo.), Tyler Robbins (JR/Bay City, Mich.), and Alex Moore (JR/Santee, Calif.) each tossed an inning en route to the victory.

The Eagles will return to action this weekend to host a three-game series against Benedictine. A single nine-inning game versus the Ravens is set to begin at 3 PM on Sunday, followed by a doubleheader on Monday beginning at 1 PM.
