Olathe, Kan. - The Central Methodist Baseball program split the first two games of a four game series against MidAmerica Nazarene Monday afternoon in Olathe, Kan. 

The Eagles stand at 13-9 and 3-1 in the Heart, while MNU is now 11-12 and 4-2 in conference action. 

Central won the first game by a final score of 7-2 behind a solid pitching performance from Sebastian Escobar. Escobar tossed five complete innings and gave up just two earned runs on two hits and three walks. Both of the hits were solo home runs by the Pioneers. In addition, Escobar struck out five batters en-route to his fifth win of the year. 

Alfred Ulloa came in relief and pitched the final two innings, picking up four strikeouts against seven batters. 

Tanner Sears blasted a three-run home run in the first inning, while Logan Doody hit an RBI-single back up the middle in the sixth. The final RBI for the Eagles came courtesy of Jeremy Conforti, who singled to right field in the same inning to score Terry Toliver Jr. 

Altogether, Central scored seven runs on eight hits. The Eagles also capitilzed on four MNU errors in game one. 

CMU fell in the second game by a final score of 6-1. Central's bats had a difficult time against the Pioneers' Tyler Frieders, who struck out 17 batters on the afternoon. 

The Eagles' lone run of the game came off the bat of Tommaso Giarola, who doubled to centerfield to score Alan West in the fifth inning. West batted two-for-three including a triple in the second inning. 

Clayton Burke got the start on the bump, throwing 2.1 innings and striking out two batters. Alexander Billo came in relief and pitched the final 3.2 innings, striking out five. 

The Eagles conclude the four game series with the Pioneers with a doubleheader Tuesday, March 21 beginning at 1:00 p.m.
