Kansas City, Mo. - Central Methodist senior outfielder Carlos Negron was named an NAIA Baseball Preseason All-American by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association (NAIA-BCA) All-America Committee this week.
This year's Preseason All-America Team, comprised of all seniors, includes five First-Team All-Americans from the 2024 season while five others were selected as Second-Team honorees last year.
Negron is coming off a 2024 campaign that saw him earn NAIA and ABCA Second Team All-America honors.
He made an immediate impact as Central's No. 4 hitter. The native of Corozal, Puerto Rico played in all 55 games for Central in the outfield. He batted .419 with 72 hits, including 19 home runs, 21 doubles, and a triple. He also recorded a .884 slugging percentage and drove in 72 RBI.
In addition, Negron had a perfect fielding percentage in right field. For his performance during conference play, Negron earned Heart First-Team All-Conference honors.
He finished 2024 leading the team in home runs, doubles, RBI, batting average, on-base percentage (.532), and slugging percentage.
