Overland Park, Kan. - After a stellar weekend, Central Methodist senior outfielder Ryan Malzahn was named the Heart of America Baseball Player of the Week, which was announced by the conference office on Monday.
The native of Foristell, Missouri, led the Eagles to a perfect 4-0 weekend with doubleheader sweeps over William Penn and Graceland.
Malzahn batted .500 with eight hits, including three home runs, while totaling 17 bases. He tallied eight RBI and crossed the plate six times.
Additionally, Malzahn recorded a stolen base and had a 1.063 slugging percentage.
The Eagles open conference play with a four-game series against Park University beginning Saturday, March 14, at 12:00 p.m. at Estes Field.
