Overland Park, Kan. - For the second time this season, Central Methodist senior outfielder Ryan Malzahn was named the Heart of America Baseball Player of the Week by the conference office on Monday.
Malzahn was previously recognized on March 9th.
This past week, the native of Foristell, Missouri, led Central to six wins, including a four-game series sweep over Missouri Valley College.
Overall, Malzahn batted .600 with nine hits, including two doubles, a triple, and three home runs. He drove in eight total RBI and tallied a slugging percentage of 1.467.
In game two against the Vikings Saturday, he batted three-for-five with three home runs, five RBI, and three runs scored.
Malzahn currently leads the team in slugging percentage (.879), home runs (12), and RBI (40).
The Eagles are scheduled to host MidAmerica Nazarene for a four-game weekend series at Estes Field beginning Friday, April 3. First pitch of game one is set for 1:00 p.m.
