Oklahoma City claimed the championship banner in the cheer competition.
Midland placed sixth in cheer and finished less than half a point behind St. Ambrose in the dance competition for second place.
In cheer, teams were scored by three judges in each of the following 10 categories with scores ranging from 1-10 in: standing tumbling, running tumbling, stunts, pyramid, basket toss, jumps, choreography, degree of difficulty, overall effect and perfection. The three judges' scores were then averaged and deductions were subtracted to account for each team's final score.
Preliminary rounds were held on Friday night and scores determined the order of performances for the finals on Saturday. The Eagles ended the preliminary round in fifth place.
