DES MOINES, IOWA ---- The Central Methodist competitive coed cheerleading team earned a second place finish at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Competition, after finishing just two points from taking the title.
In the cheer finals, the team scored a perfect 10 from one judge in the running tumbling, and finished with a 26 out of 30 from that judge in the tumbling and jumping total.
The team also received an eight from all three judges in overall execution, and two eights with a 7.5 in difficulty. With less than a point of deductions, the team scored a 78.25 in the final.
In the final standings, Missouri Valley finished with a 78.52 to win the title, while Central Methodist earned a 76.30.
Five different Eagles earned Heart All-Conference honors at the competition in Madeline Burgess, Bethany DuCharme, Keona Smith, Jerome Asbury and Levi Lammers.
The Eagles will return to action on Saturday, February 17, when they host a regular season competition inside Puckett Field house.
