FAYETTE, Mo. ---- The Central Methodist coed cheer team hosted the CMU Cheer and Dance Classic Saturday afternoon, as the Eagles took home first place on their home court.
The Eagles won by nearly 20 points with an 86.3, as Waldorf University finished in second with a score of 66.8, and Mount Mercy University came in thrid with a score of 66.25.
In the scorecard, Central Methodist finished nearly perfect in six categories. They included a 9.2 from one judge in partner and group stunts, a nine from both judges in pyramids, a nine from one judge in standing tumbling, a nine from both judges in running tumbles, a nine and 9.5 in jumps, a nine from one judge in showmanship and general impression and a nine from both judges in overall difficulty.
Central Methodist is currently ranked ninth in the NAIA, as the team will prepare for the National Championship Qualifiers on Friday, February 23. If the Eagles are ranked in the top 12 after the qualifier, they will head to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for the 2nd annual NAIA Competitive Cheer and Dance National Championships.
