BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Central Methodist University competitive cheer program earned a runner-up finish at the Midwest Regional Qualifier on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles earned a score of 75.6 in the preliminary round, entering finals in first place with a two point lead. An unfortunate fall at the end of the closing performance left Central with a final score of 73.3, which landed the squad in second place. Missouri Valley won the regional title with a grand total of 77.9.

Central will now wait to see if they've received one of the six at-large bids to the championship event. The list of qualifiers will be announced by the national office on March 1st.
