Cal Benson

Cal Benson

Cal Benson joined the Eagles' Football program prior to the 2024 season. He currently serves as the Wide Receivers Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. 

Benson previously spent three seasons on staff at fellow Heart institution Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. 

While with the Wildcats, Benson served as the Quarterbacks Coach, mentoring Jase Orndorff to a pair of Heart All-Conference selections. 

Prior to CS-C, Coach Benson was a graduate assistant for Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi, where he served as the Tight Ends Coach. He earned his master's degree in sports management from DSU in the spring of 2021. 

Additionally, Benson coached the wide receivers and running backs for two seasons at Quincy University in Illinois (2018 & 2019). 

Coach Benson was a student assistant for Missouri State (2015-18) and Central Methodist (2014-15). He graduated from Missouri State in 2018 with a degree in Sports Management. 

While at CMU and Missouri State, Benson was an active member of the United States Army Reserves as a Transportation Specialist, spending time in Eastern Europe and numerous regions in the United States.
