Smith Named HAAC Mens Basketball Player-of-the-Week

Central Methodist University senior Curtis Smith (LaBelle, Mo.) was selected as the Heart of America Athletic Conference men's basketball player-of-the-week after averaging 24.5 points in CMU's two games last week. ��� Smith, a 5-8 guard, shot 80 percent from the field in Central Methodist's games against Baker and Graceland last week. He scored a career-high 28 points in CMU's 85-80 overtime win over Baker Thursday night, and followed that performance with 21 points in a 67-69 loss to Graceland Saturday. Smith finished 6-of-8 from three-point range in CMU's win over Baker, including his game-tying shot with 1.5 seconds left in regulation, which sent the game to overtime. He was 5-of-7 from three-point range against Graceland, as he finished the week shooting 73.3 percent from beyond the arc.
