OLATHE, Kan. - The No. 24-ranked MidAmerica Nazarene men's basketball team picked up an 86-68 victory over Central Methodist on Saturday at the Cook Center. The Pioneers improve to 17-7 overall, 11-1 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play. The Runnin' Eagles fall to 9-13 overall, 3-9 in the HAAC.
Dustin Dowd led the Pioneers offensively with 19 points. Conner Langrehr and Luke Thomas followed up with 17 and 16, respectively. Jacob French had 15. Thomas also had 18 rebounds.
Melvin Tillman scored a game-high 21 points for Central Methodist. Eric Franklin added 14. Elliott Black and Robert Mason netted 11 and 10, respectively. Derek Kitch recorded seven off the bench.
Franklin posted a team-high three steals. Alex Barner had two.
MidAmerica Nazarene shot 27-of-55 (49.1%) from the field. The Runnin' Eagles�shot 25-of-62 (40.3%) over the course of 40 minutes.
Central Methodist outrebounded the Pioneers on the offensive glass, 13-12. Black was responsible for five of the 13.
The Runnin' Eagles will travel to Graceland on Thursday, Feb. 9. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
