Woodson has been a two-year student-athlete for North Central Missouri College after starring for four seasons at Rockwood Summit (Mo.) High School.
"I'm happy to become an Eagle," Woodson said. "I've always felt something special about CMU. I'm excited for the upcoming season to see how far we go as a team."
Sherman admitted that the addition of Woodson to the backcourt could propel the Eagles back into the National Championship for the first time in six seasons.
"Jory is an exciting and talented player and plays with a lot of passion," Sherman said. "We have known about Jory for a few years. He was fabulous in high school and was named the Suburban South Conference (SSC) Player of the Year (as a senior). He has matured and developed into a wonderful collegiate player and is the type of player we desperately need to continue our path at pursuing a conference championship. The son of Jermar and Medina Woodson and grandson of Jerome Woodson, Jory is a winner and a class individual. Eagle fans are going to be in for a nice treat these next couple of years."
Woodson averaged 13.8 points, 4.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game as a sophomore for North Central Missouri, leading the squad to a 22-7 record. He totaled 776 points, 268 assists and 197 rebounds in 58 games over two seasons. Woodson was an All-NJCAA Region 16 first team selection as a freshman and second team pick as a sophomore.
Woodson totaled 1,161 points in four seasons at Rockwood Summit. As a senior, the SSC Player of the Year averaged 19.0 points, 4.7 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game.
The Fenton, Mo., product becomes the second North Central Missouri player to sign with the Eagles this offseason after the addition of Tyrell Thirkield.
"The combination of these two players for the 2015-16 season is crucial," Sherman noted. "This is going to be our largest incoming class with losing seven seniors, but I am excited to get on the court with both Jory and Tyrell for the next couple of seasons. These two guards will be a lot of fun to play with, and their leadership, talent and experience will help propel us towards the top of the league."
Central Methodist finished last season 20-12 overall and 9-9 in the HAAC.
