With the victory, Central Methodist improves to 8-4 overall, while The Master's College falls to 4-5 overall.
The Eagles opened play following the holiday break on a tear. They would jump on the Mustangs early and never look back. Central Methodist outscored The Master's College 44-35 after one half of play. CMU shot 60% from the field and 66% from beyond the three-point arc in the first half. On the other side of the ball, the Mustangs were held to a shooting percentage of just 38% from the field and from beyond the three-point arc.
Central Methodist continued their dominance in the second half, outscoring the Mustangs 30-18, on their way to the 74-53 victory. CMU shot 43% from the field in the second half, compared to just 26% for The Master's College.
Ron Lee led all scorers with a game high 27 points on 11-for-18 shooting. Marcus Walden finished with 16 points and Scott Stegeman finished with 12 points and a team best 11 rebounds.
The Eagles conclude play on Wednesday in the Jersey Mike's Holiday Classic, when they face San Diego Christian College. The opening tip is set for 7pm CST at The Master's College in Santa Clarita, California.
