With the loss, the Eagles season ends with an overall record of 15-16. With the victory, Grand View University improves to 15-15 overall and will face 2nd seeded Peru State College on Wednesday evening at 7pm.

Grand View University jumped on the Eagles early on Monday evening, racing out to a 6-0 lead in the first minute of the game and never really had much trouble from there. CMU played catch up most of the night, and we unable to ever sustain a healthy lead in the ballgame.

At halftime, Grand View led 40-36 following their 51% shooting performance from the field in the first half. The Vikings went 0-for-7 from beyond the three-point arc, but did convert on 8-of-11 free-throw attempts. Central Methodist on the other hand, shot 44% from the field in the first half and just 2-for-8 from beyond the three-point arc. The Eagles attempted just two free-throws in the first half, but made them both.

In the second half, the Eagles continued to play catch-up and struggled to find any rhythm. Central shot 39% from the field, 30% from behind the three-point arc, and finished 11-for-16 from the free-throw line. With CMU trying to get back into the game, they were forced to foul early and Grand View took advantage of their trips to the charity stripe. The Vikings made 19-of-24 from the free-throw line in the second half to help seal the upset victory. The Vikings also shot 52% from the field and 80% (4-for-5) from beyond the three-point arc.

Ron Lee (Oak Park, Calif.) finished with 11 points on 3-of-13 shooting with four assists, three rebounds and two steals in 38 minutes of action.
