The Central Methodist University basketball teams traveled to Mid-America Nazarene Saturday, with the men falling 91-75.
CMU came out firing, taking a 46-39 lead into the break, but faltered in the 2nd half as they were outscored 52-29. Several Eagles had big games, led by Cole Adair (SR/Fishers, Ind.)'s double double of 22 pts and 16 rbds. Charles Harris III (SR/Antioch, Ill.) (10 pts), Bo Burkhart (JR/Evansville, Ind.) (12 pts), and Ron Lee (SR/Oak Park, Calif.) (15 pts), were also in double figures for the Eagles, who fell to 16-11 on the season and 13-10 in the conference.
The Eagles outshot MNU 51.5% to 45.2% in the first half, but were outshot 52.9% to 26.3% in the pivotal 2nd half.
CMU Head Men's Basketball Coach Jeff Sherman had this to say about today's contest, "I felt we had a great game plan and executed it very well in the first half, taking a seven point lead. I was disappointed by our lack of focus and execution in the second half which led to our collapse. We need to get refocused for the two games at home this week."
The Eagles will close the regular season this week, hosting Culver-Stockton Wednesday before hosting Evangel University Saturday for Senior Day. The ball tips at 7:30pm Wednesday, and 4:00 pm Saturday.
