Fayette, Mo. – The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced their weekly Player of the Week award winners on Monday afternoon; sponsored by Hillyard. Central Methodist senior Cole Adair (SR/Fishers, Ind.) was named The Heart men's basketball player of the week.
"I am thrilled to hear about this honor for Cole," said CMU men's basketball head coach Jeff Sherman. "What a wonderful week he had. To top it off, his family came in from Indiana to watch his final home game, which he had his career high 30 points and 15 rebounds. I am proud he received this honor. He has worked very hard this season."
Adair had a tremendous showing this past week, beginning with Culver-Stockton. Adair only played 23 minutes in an 88-69 win over the Wildcats. He managed to finish the game with a double-double and a career high in scoring with 28 points and 10 rebounds, along with 3 steals.
On Saturday evening against Evangel, during "Senior Night," Adair managed to top his last performance, playing 34 minutes and finishing with another double-double and career high in scoring with 30 points and 10 rebounds, along with 5 assists. The Eagles dropped the game against the Crusaders in an 89-96 lost.
The Eagles will open the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament, at home, as the #7 seed against #10 seed Missouri Valley College. The game will be tomorrow (Tuesday, Feb. 28th) at 7:00pm in Puckett Field House.
