FAYETTE, Mo. ---- The Central Methodist men's basketball team has announced its summer camp sessions that will take place near the end of June.
"I am excited to announce our summer camp sessions for 2018. We have a wonderful reputation and tradition of success with putting together one of the finest basketball camps in the state. I take pride in having hired the finest coaching staff and participating in outstanding facilities on our beautiful campus of Central Methodist University makes this second to none. I invite everyone to check us out and participate in a fun, intense and rewarding basketball experience," head coach Jeff Sherman stated.
The Central Methodist University Men's Basketball program finished 7th in the nation NAIA with an overall record of 27-6 and were the South Division Champions in the Heart of America Conference. Coach Sherman received his seventh coach of the year honor as he was recognized Coach of the Year in the Heart of America and reached the 600-win plateau making him the 5th winningest active coach in the NAIA Division I in the nation. He is the 7th All-time winningest basketball coach in the state of Missouri within four-year colleges. Next season will be Coach Sherman's 34 year as Head Basketball Coach at CMU.
34th Annual Individual Basketball Camps for Boys and Girls
The CMU Men's Basketball program will be hosting the 34th Annual Summer Basketball Camp Sessions for Boys and Girls grades k-12. Head Coach Jeff Sherman runs one of the longest running basketball camps in the state of Missouri and features an outstanding coaching staff which includes the CMU Basketball coaches and players along with many of the area's finest high school and collegiate coaches.

CMU Team Shootouts in June 2018
CMU has been involved with the top team camps and shootouts in the state of Missouri for over three decades. Teams from all over the state and surrounding states have the luxury of attending within a close distance and capable of competing against schools of all divisions. There is a big school / small school division and feature varsity, junior varsity and junior high divisions. Teams have the option of staying overnight on one of the most beautiful campus's in the Midwest along with eating all you can eat meals and staying overnight in A/C residence halls. All campers receive a FREE Basketball and FREE T-shirt for attending along with a fundamental camper's manual to take home for future reference.
Teams have the option of playing games over the course of 1-2 3 or 4 days June 13-16th and three Saturday one day shootouts are scheduled on June 2nd, June 16th and June 30th. Teams can play up to 5 games a day. There are excellent coaching packages for those teams that stay overnight on campus including Under Armour gift, free meals and lodging along with a coaches social and staff shirt and notebook.
Last Summer over 85 teams participated in the 33rd annual session. All games are played in A/C facilities and are officiated by certified high school officials from the MSHSAA.
