DES MOINES, Iowa – The Central Methodist University men's basketball put together a big second half to secure a 60-48 victory over Grand View University after leading by only four at the half.
The Eagles (9-3/4-3 Heart) finished with two members in double figures. The squad was led in scoring by Isaiah Thurmond (SR/Alton, Ill.) with 17 points and five rebounds., followed by Josh Robinson (JR/Normal, Ill.) who contributed 11 points after going 9-for-10 from the free throw line. Cameron Tutt (SR/Owensboro, Ky.) led CMU on the boards with 11 rebounds while tacking on seven points.
Central Methodist pulled through with a strong 35-27 ending half to secure the victory. The Eagles shot 35.7 percent from the floor while forcing 17 Viking turnovers and collecting six steals.
The Eagles will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 16, with a long trip to West Virginia University of Technology. Tipoff is set for 2 pm.
