FAYETTE, Mo. - The (RV) Central Methodist University men's basketball team fell in a tough back-and-forth affair to Clarke in the final seconds, 65-63.
An Isaiah Thurmond (SR/Alton, Ill.) layup tied the game with six seconds left, but the Pride responded with the go-ahead bucket, leaving 0.9 seconds on the clock. A long throw-in from Cameron Tutt (SR/Owensboro, Ky.) was bobbled around the three-point line and the final buzzer sounded before Terrance Bush (SR/Des Moines, Iowa)'s shot left his hand, rendering the made basket null and void.
The Eagles (9-5, 4-4 Heart) were led in scoring by Thurmond and Tutt, each posting 17 points apiece. Tutt tacked on 11 rebounds, finishing with his third double-double of the season.
Josh Robinson (JR/Normal, Ill.) also finished in double figures with 11 points while tallying eight rebounds and six assists.
Central Methodist will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 5, to host Missouri Valley. Game time is set for 4 pm.
