BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The No. 24 Central Methodist University men's basketball team fell to Baker University on a cold shooting night with a 75-66 loss.
The Eagles (12-6, 7-5 Heart) committed less turnovers, were nearly even in rebounding, and were above average from the charity stripe at 82.6 percent. Despite their efforts, the squad struggled as a team to find an offensive rhythm with a 30.8 percent finish from the field and a 7-for-34 showing from beyond the arc.
Isaiah Thurmond (SR/Alton, Ill.) led the team in scoring and just missed a double-double, finishing with 21 points and nine rebounds. Josh Robinson (JR/Normal, Ill.) tacked on a season-high 17 points while stuffing the stat line with four rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block. Christian Soderholm (JR/Peru, Ill.) rounded out the top scorers with 11 points while nabbing six rebounds.
Central Methodist will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 19., to host Peru State. Tipoff is set for 4 pm in Puckett Field House.
