Eagles Second-Half Comeback Falls Short

FAYETTE, Mo. – Down 11 at the intermission, the Central Methodist men's basketball team scratched and clawed its' way back into the game on multiple occasions, but couldn't overcome Culver-Stockton, falling 87-77.

An 18-7 run to open the second half gave the Eagles new life with a 54-54 tie, but they couldn't get any closer, dropping their fifth straight contest and falling to 12-10 on the season and 7-9 in Heart play.

Christian Soderholm (JR/Peru, Ill.) led the Eagles after posting a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Terrance Bush (SR/Des Moines, Iowa) and Isiah Sykes (JR/Holt Summit, Mo.) rounded out the top performers with 17 points and 11 points, respectively.

Culver-Stockton won the game with consistent shooting, posting a 49% mark from the field and 56% from long-range. Central Methodist could only muster 43% from the field and 40% from three.

Up next, Central Methodist will travel to Graceland University for a Saturday road contest. Game time is set for 4 pm in Lamoni, Iowa.
