FAYETTE, Mo. – The Central Methodist University men's basketball team dropped a back-and-forth contest to MidAmerica Nazarene University in Puckett Field House on Wednesday night.
At the break, the Eagles led by seven points, thanks to a 40-foot buzzer-beater by Christian Soderholm (JR/Peru, Ill.). Central Methodist led most of the game before fading down the stretch.
Four Eagles finished in double figures, led by Josh Robinson (JR/Normal, Ill.) with a season-high total of 19 points while dishing a team-high of seven assists. Soderholm chipped in with 18 points and a career-high four three-pointers.
Speaking of career-highs, Will Miles (SO/Rock Island, Ill.) had a night full of them, posting a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Rounding out the top scorers was Isiah Sykes (JR/Holt Summit, Mo.) with 11 points and a 3-for-4 finish from three-point land.
The Eagles will return to action on Saturday with a trip to Mount Mercy. Tipoff is set for 4 pm in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
