DES MOINES, Iowa – The No. 20 Central Methodist University men's basketball program got back on track with a win over Grand View in the conference opener, topping the Vikings 81-67 on the road.
The Eagles held a narrow four-point lead at the intermission, but were able to put the game away with a strong 45 point showing in the second frame of play. The squad shot an impressive 50 percent from the three-point line and won the rebounded contest at a 30-23 margin.
Kyle McDermed (JR/Frankfort, Ill.) and Seth Stegeman (SR/Jefferson City, Mo.) buoyed the offense, each posting 18 points en route to the victory. All eighteen for Stegeman came from long range as he went 6-for-7 from beyond the arc.
Christian Soderholm (SR/Peru, Ill.) posted his fourth double double of the season after finishing the contest with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Josh Robinson (SR/Normal, Ill.) rounded out the list of top offensive performers with a double double of his own as he tacked on 13 points and 10 assists.
Central will return to action with a trip to Clarke University on Wednesday, November 20th. Tipoff is set for 7:30 M in Dubuque, Iowa.
