Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist men's basketball team dropped its fourth-straight game, falling to MidAmerica Nazarene by a score of 67-55, Saturday afternoon inside Puckett Fieldhouse.
With the loss, CMU falls to 5-7 and 3-5 in the Heart, while the Pioneers improve 5-6 and 2-6 conference play. Central and MidAmerica split the regular-season series, as the Eagles won the first matchup on Nov. 21 in Olathe, 74-69.
MNU's offense opened the first half on a 16-2 scoring run, leading by as many as 15 points en route to a 36-24 advantage at the halftime break over Central. CMYUtrimmed the lead to as few as five points with less than 11 minutes remaining in the game courtesy of key baskets from Fode Camara, Kyle McDermed, and Chandler Bevans, but were not able to come any closer, as MNU claimed the 12 point victory.
Bevans led the offense with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Camara added nine points, a game-high 18 rebounds, and an assist. The 18 rebounds match Camara's season-high which was set against Baker Thursday night.
