Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist University men's basketball team dropped a heartbreaker to Clarke University, 68-66, Wednesday night in Puckett Fieldhouse.
With the loss, Central falls to 8-12 overall including 5-10 in the conference, while the Pride improve to 10-8 and 9-6.
Tied at 66-66 with 12 seconds left, the Eagles needed a defensive stop. With 0.8 remaining, a CMU foul put Clarke at the charity stripe where they converted on both free throws. Central had one final shot to win the game, firing off a three-point attempt at half court which ultimately fell short of the basket, giving the Pride the narrow two-point win.

Senior forward Fode Camara added 13 points, shooting 75-percent from the floor along with seven rebounds and a block.
Chandler Bevans was the final Eagle to reach double figures, as he finished the evening with 10 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Austin Fisher added nine points while both Kyle McDermed and Jayden McGrew collected eight points.
Trips to the charity stripe were hard to come by for Central, as the Eagles converted on nine-of-10 attempts. Clarke finished the night with 24 made free throws on 32 attempts. The Pride won the battle of the boards, grabbing 45 rebounds, compared to CMU's 37.
