Kansas City, Mo. - Central Methodist men's basketball senior guard Tim Cameron has been selected to the Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List, announced by the Small College Basketball and National Awards Committee Saturday afternoon.
Cameron joins William Penn's Kevion Blaylock and Karmari Newman as the only players from the Heart of America Athletic Conference to be featured.
The 2022 Bevo Francis Top 100 Watch List consists of some of the top players from NCAA Division II, Division III, NAIA Division I and II the USCAA and NCCAA.
The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball. Considerations will be season statistics and individual achievements, awards, personal character and team achievements. The incredibly prestigious award will only be bestowed on one player within Small College Basketball per season.
Cameron, a senior guard from Norcross, Ga. has appeared in 17 games for Central this season, averaging 13.2 points and and 6.5 rebounds/game. He has reached double figures in 12 games played, scoring twenty or more points on two different occassions.
In addition, he has shot 47.4-percent from the floor, leads the Heart in steals (51), and is No. 6 in the nation in steals/game (3.0). Cameron has led Central to a 14-5 record and a 5-3 mark in conference play.
On Feb. 15th, the list will be reduced to the Top 50 players. One month later on March 15th, the Top 25 players will be announced. On April 2nd, the finalists of this year's award will be announced, followed by the Bevo Francis Award winner being crowned on April 4th.
