Kansas City, Mo. - After a stellar 2022 campaign, Central Methodist sophomore guard Jonathan Brown was tabbed as an NAIA Third Team All-American by the national office Wednesday.
He becomes the first All-American since Brian Egejuru in 2017-18 and just the 12th All-America selection in program history.
The All-America list is comprised of three teams of 10 players, along with 47 players on the honorable mention list.
Brown appeared in 32 games with 31 starts in his first full season with the Eagles. The native of London, England led the team in scoring, averaging 18.6 points/game. In addition, Brown averaged 4.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists/contest.
His best performance of the year came in CMU's 79-73 upset victory over No. 3 William Penn back on Dec. 8. Brown scored a career-high 35 points along with eight rebounds and four assists. For his efforts in the victory, he was selected as the Heart Player of the Week.
The First Team All-Conference performer converted on 45.7-percent of his field goal attempts and 37.2-percent from beyond the arc.
Overall, Brown tallied 31 total double-digit scoring performances, including 15 games over 20 points and two games of 30 or more. Brown led the Eagles to a 22-11 overall record and their first appearance in the NAIA National Tournament since 2018.
