Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Basketball program opened Heart Conference play with an 80-65 win over Graceland University Monday evening inside Puckett Field House.
The Eagles improve to 3-2 and 1-0 in conference play, while Graceland falls to 4-2 and 0-1 in the Heart.
CMU held a five-point lead at the halftime break, before outscoring the Yellowjackets by 10 in the second half to come away with a 15 point victory.
James Jordan once again led the CMU offense with 26 points on 50-percent shooting from the floor and 12-of-15 from the charity stripe. He also added seven rebounds, three steals, two assists, and a block. Quinan Rieves matched Jordan with a team-high seven rebounds.
Jaquan Morris added 20 points on seventy-percent shooting from the floor in just 16 minutes off the bench. Everett Stubblefield was the final Eagle to land in double-figures wtih 15 points.
Jayden McGrew added seven points and dished out a team-high five assists.
As a team, Central finished the evening shooting 50-percent from the floor including 30.4-percent from three. The Eagles also converted on 19-of-24 free throw attempts.
The Yellowjackets outrebounded Central, 36-31, but committed 16 turnovers on 10 Eagles' steals.
Central will remain at home to host Clarke University Saturday, Nov. 26 at 4:00 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
