Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Basketball team used a balanced scoring attack to defeat Culver-Stockton College 79-69 Wednesday evening inside Puckett Field House.
With the victory, Central improves to 6-4 and 4-2 in conference play. The Wildcats drop to 5-6 and 1-5 in the Heart.
CMU saw five Eagles land in double figures, including four in the starting five. Quinan Rieves had the best game of his career, scoring a game-high 17 points on seven-of-nine shooting from the floor. He also knocked down three three-point baskets and added seven rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block.
Everett Stubblefield tallied 16 points on 70-percent shooting along with five assists, three rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Josh Noton followed with 14 points while James Jordan added 11. Isaiah May rounded out the double digit scorers with 10 points.
The Eagles just outrebounded Culver-Stockton on the glass, 39-34. The trio of Jordan, May, and Rieves all grabbed seven boards apiece for CMU.
Central proved to be the more efficient team from the floor, shooting 52.5-percent compared to just 41.5-percent for Culver-Stockton.
The Eagles will next head out to the tropics of Hawaii to Compete in the Big Island Classic this weekend. Central will begin the tournament with a matchup against Valley City State Saturday (N.D.), Dec. 17 at 9:30 p.m.
