Hilo, Hawai'i - CMU Men's Basketball concluded its time in Hawai'i with a 92-70 loss to host school, and NCAA Division II member Hawai'i Hilo in the Big Island Classic Championship Sunday night.
Everett Stubblefield led Central's offense with 17 points on seven-of-20 shooting from the floor, which included two makes from beyond the arc. The native of Chicago, Ill. also added four assists, three rebounds, and a steal. For his performance in the Classic, Stubblefield was named to the Big Island Classic All-Tournament Team.
Josh Noton was right behind with 16 points in 24 minutes of action. Thomas Sowoolu nearly cracked double figures with eight points in addition to six rebounds.
The Vulcans outrebounded Central 43-27, with 14 of those rebounds coming on the offensive glass. Hawai'i Hilo also shot 10-percent better than the Eagles.
Central returns to conference action when they travel to Benedictine College to face the Ravens Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Atchison, Kan.
