Atchison, Kan. - The Central Methodist Men's Basketball team fell to Benedictine College in the first game of 2023, 75-64 Wednesday night in Atchison, Kan.
CMU falls to 7-6 and 4-3 in conference action. BC improves to 7-7 and 5-3 in the Heart.
Three different Eagles landed in double figures, led by Everett Stubblefield who tallied 19 points on eight-of-16 shooting from the floor.
James Jordan scored 17 points which included four three-point baskets. He also added five rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block. Trent Lyles rounded out the double-digit scorers for CMU with 10 points.
Benedictine did a majority of its damage from beyond the arc, knocking down 14 three-point baskets. The Ravens also made 25 trips to the charity stripe, converting on 19 attempts. Central made just five trips to the free throw line on the evening.
CMU finished the night knocking down 10 three-point baskets.
The Eagles will next face Peru State College Saturday, Jan. 7 at 4:00 p.m. in Peru, Neb.
