Peru, Neb. - Despite holding a first half lead, the Central Methodist Men's Basketball team fell to Peru State College by a final score of 86-79 Saturday night in Peru, Neb.
With the defeat, Central falls to 7-7 and 4-4 in the Heart. The Bobcats improve to 11-4 and 6-3 in conference action.
The Eagles knocked down seven three-point baskets and forced 10 turnovers in the first half to take a 38-35 lead into the locker room at the break. However, Peru State would drop 51 second half points, shooting nearly 65-percent from the floor to come back and earn the seven point victory.
Everett Stubblefield tallied his 10th-straight double-digit scoring performance, scoring 19 points which included four three-point baskets. The native of Chicago, Ill., also added three steals and two rebounds.
Josh Noton added 16 points on 50-percent shootig off the bench, while James Jordan added 13 points in addition to four rebounds and three assists.
Jaquan Morris rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points.
As a team, Central converted on more than 40-percent of its three point attempts. Peru's offense shot over 60-percent from the floor and outrebounded the Eagles 38-25.
CMU will return home to host Park University Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 7:30 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
