Fayette, Mo. - CMU Men's Basketball picked up its third-straight victory with a 67-54 win over Benedictine College Wednesday night inside Puckett Field House.
The Eagles secure the season split with the Ravens, and improve their overall record to 11-9 and 8-6 in the Heart. Benedictine now falls to 11-10 and 9-6 in conference action.
It was a back and forth affarin the opening half, as Benedictine held a slight 28-27 lead at the halftime break. The Eagles opened the second half on an 8-0 scoring run to take a 35-27 lead.
Central never looked back as they led every step of the way, earning the 13-point win.
The Eagles' offense featured four double-digit scorers, all being featured in the starting lineup. Quinan Rieves led the way with 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to earn a double-double.
James Jordan also landed in double figures, tallying 16 points along with four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Jaquan Morris added 12 points while Everett Stubblefield finished with 10.
It was a tough shooting night for both sides, as Central finished shooting just 38.2-percent from the floor and Benedictine 37-percent. The Eagles also converted 18-of-28 attempts from the free throw line, while BC converted on just eight-of-15.
Central forced 16 turnovers on nine steals. Benedictine held a slight advantage on the glass, grabbing 39 rebounds compared to 37 for CMU.
The Eagles will remain at home to host rival Missouri Valley College Saturday, Jan. 28 at 4:00 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
