Dubuque, Iowa - The Central Methodist Men's Basketball team held off the Clarke University Pride in the second half to come away with a 92-87 victory in Dubuque, Iowa.
The Eagles are now winners of six consecutive games, improving their record to 14-9 and 11-6 in conference play. Clarke falls to 10-13 and 5-12 in the Heart.
The game featured nine ties and 19 lead changed in a back and forth affair.
Central's offense featured four double-digit scorers, including three with 21 or more.
Everett Stubblefield led Central with 25 points on 50 percent shooting from the floor and nine-of-14 from the charity stripe. Quinan Rieves followed with 23 points in 38 minutes of action. The Kansas City, Mo. native also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds to secure a double-double.
James Jordan added 21 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a steal. Jordan did a majority of his scoring from the free throw line, converting on all 13 of his attempts from the charity stripe.
Jaquan Morris rounded out the double-digit scorers for CMU with 15 points.
As a team, the Eagles spent much of the evening from the free throw line, knocking down 35-of-46 attempts compared to 23 trips for the Pride.
CMU just edged Clarke on the boards, grabbing 38 rebounds compared to Clarke's 37.
Central returns home to host Evangel University Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
