Tong's Sharpshooting Leads Central to Upset of (RV) Columbia College

Columbia, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Basketball team upset (RV) Columbia College by a final score of 77-68 Wednesday night in Columbia, Mo. 

Central improves its overall record to 3-0, while the Cougars drop to 0-2. 

The Eagles were largely led by the sharpshooting efforts of senior forward Bol Tong. The native from Kansas City dropped a game-high 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the floor which included six three-point baskets. Tong also grabbed nine rebounds to nearly secure a double-double. Additionally, get recorded an assist, a steal, and a block to his stat line. 

Brandon Tchouya joined Tong in double figures with 12 points to go along with seven rebounds, five assists, four steals and a block. 

Graduate guard Marcus Anthony followed with nine points and six rebounds, while the duo of Destin Jenkins and Kevin James each chipped in eight points. Kai Jordan finished the evening with seven points, five assists, four rebounds, and two steals. 

Thomas Sowoolu scored six points and grabbed five rebounds in nine minutes of action. 

Central did a majority of its damage from the three-point line, knocking down 11 three-point baskets. Columbia College held a slight advantage on the glass, outrebounding Central 49-44. 

The Eagles conclude their two-game road swing against William Woods Saturday, Nov. 9 at 2:00 p.m. in Fulton, Mo.
