Kansas City, Mo. - Two members of the Central Methodist Men's Basketball program were named to Heart of America All-Conference teams, which were announced by the conference office Thursday.
Super senior Marcus Anthony was named to the First Team, while senior forward Bol Tong earned Third Team honors.
Anthony earned Heart All-Conference honors for the first time in his career. The fifth year senior from Jefferson City, Missouri appeared in all 29 games for the Eagles with 27 starts.
Anthony averaged 15.1 points, four rebounds, and 2.4 assists/game in 2024-25. Additionally, he knocked down 85.9 percent of his free throw attempts and shot nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc.
He reached double-digit scoring 21 times this year, including eight games of 20 or more points and two games of 30 or more.
Anthony scored, at the time, a career best 30 points against Missouri Valley College on Nov. 26, which resulted in his first Heart Player of the Week honor.
In the final game of 2024-25, Anthony produced the best scoring game of his career with 35 points, including 22 in the first half alone against No. 2 seeded Graceland Yellowjackets in the Heart Tournament Quarterfinals.
Tong, in his lone season with the Eagles, provided a strong defensive presence in the low block for Central. The native of Kansas City, Missouri appeared in all 29 games with 26 starts.
He averaged 12.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks/game.
Tong had an incredible stretch where he earned Heart Player of the Week honors three times in a four-week span. He was twice named the Heart Defensive Player of the Week (1/14 & 1/27) and once Offensive Player of the Week (1/7).
The 6-9 forward was lethal from deep, finishing second on the team with a 38.8 shooting percentage from three.
Central finished the year with a 15-14 overall record and 12-12 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
