Salina, Kan. - The Central Methodist Men's Basketball team bounced back with an 82-70 win over host school Kansas Wesleyan in the final game of the KWU Classic Saturday evening in Salina, Kansas.
Central improves to 3-1, while the Coyotes drop to 0-2.
The Eagles were led by two stand out performances from Isaiah Reams and Raphael Gay. Reams finished the night with 29 points on nine-of-17 shooting from the floor and 10-of-12 from the free throw line.
Gay also reached the 20-point plateau with 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting.
Tommie Williams nearly tallied a double-double with eight points and a team leading 10 rebounds. Williams also added four assists, four steals and a pair of blocks.
Kevin James matched Williams with eight points.
As a team, Central shot nearly 50.8 percent from the floor and 72 percent from the charity stripe.
The Coyotes won the battle of the boards, grabbing 36 rebounds compared to 32 for the Eagles.
CMU's defense forced 15 KWU turnovers and held the Coyotes to under 40 percent shooting.
Central will next host Columbia College for their home opener Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
