Fayette, Mo. - Behind a career night from Isaiah Reams, the Central Methodist Men's Basketball team came back to defeat John Brown University in overtime, 94-86, Monday night inside Puckett Field House.
Central now improves to 4-2 in non-conference, while the Golden Eagles drop to 3-1.
Senior guard Isaiah Reams carried the CMU offense with a stellar night, dropping 39 points on 11-of-17 shooting from the floor, five-of-seven from three, and 12-of-14 from the charity stripe.
Additionally, the native of Mexico, Missouri, added 10 rebounds to secure a double-double, while also dishing out a team-best eight assists.
Raphael Gay tallied 18 points on seven-of-11 shooting in addition to grabbing four rebounds and recording three assists and a steal.
Tyson Oghene nearly cracked double figures with nine points, of which all nine points came from the three-point line.
Kevin James added seven points, while Tommie Williams tallied six, and both Austin Prater and Thomas Sowoolu chipped in four.
Both teams were nearly identical in shooting from the floor, as JBU converted 41.9 percent of its attempts, and CMU 41.7 percent.
The Golden Eagles controlled the glass, outrebounding Central 45-33. However, Central converted an impressive 92.3 percent of its free throw attempts while JBU finished the night at 78.6 percent.
CMU will open up conference play against MidAmerica Nazarene University Saturday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
